The Lodge Grounds were created in the late 17th century by the Dalrymples. In 1939 the Grounds became a public park. Outside the Lodge building, between it and the car park, is a female yew in fine condition. A girth measurement of 342 cm taken at 150 cm high (SYTHI 2021) implies the yew was planted when the Grounds were created and is an original feature.
