The present church, built by the Fletcher family, was completed by 1805, replacing an earlier building.
In the churchyard are yews with girths measuring 150 – 200 cm at 100 cm high (SYTHI 2017) suggesting they are contemporary with the remodelling of the churchyard just over 200 years ago.
There is another yew, a male, with a girth of 345 cm at 100 cm (SYTHI 2017) which as a rough estimate suggests it may be well over 300 years old. If so, then thankfully it must have been retained when the site was redeveloped.
