There are a number of yews at Kemnay House in Aberdeenshire. Some grow close to the house, including some yew hedging and many others grow in a yew woodland in damp conditions. The site includes several layering yews. Measurements suggest a variety of planting dates. The Tower House was built in the 1500s, and in the 1700s was the the George Burnett arboretum. The yew hedging is understood to have been planted in the 1830s
